Week 4 of 4. Optional, and intended for anyone who wishes to learn more about why some modern translations differ from traditional ones in how they address gender in the Bible text.

We will consider examples such as Romans 3:28 as expressed in the 1984 and 2011 versions of the NIV.

"For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law." (NIV 1984) vs. "For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." (NIV 2011).
