Bibs to Backpacks (B2B) consists of a diverse group of moms, who wish to enjoy activities with their kids while creating lasting friendships for themselves! We are easy going moms looking to have fun, learn from each other, and respect differing parenting styles. The majority of our most active members stay at home with children preschool age or younger. It doesn’t matter where you live, but the majority of our meetups take place in Orland Park and the surrounding area. All moms are welcome, as long as you commit to being active in our group!
What do we do?
Our calendar consists of park playdates, mom’s nights out (MNO), playdates at members’ homes, lunches, breakfasts, walks, mall play area, museums, the zoo, among many other fun activities. We have activities almost daily at a variety of times and locations. The majority of our meetups are in the mornings during the week, since that has proven to be the most popular time with our members. Evening meetups are usually for moms only. Your input and suggestions are very important to us!
**New members are only accepted once per month.**
We understand when you find a moms group you want to jump right in and start making friends, so we apologize for any inconvenience. Due to the size of our group and the number of members who join each month, we’ve decided to only accept members once per month.
In the interest of the safety and comfort of our members and our children, we require all prospective members to attend a Meet & Greet (M&G) with the organizers in a public place prior to your membership approval. Meet & Greets are not interviews! We are a very welcoming group.
The M&G will give you chance to meet the organizers, as well as other new members, so you will have some familiar faces to watch for at meetups. We will go over some important info regarding how our group runs to help you fit right in. M&G are designed to be a MNO (moms’ night out), but infants are always welcome at our MNOs.
Our M&G is held at the beginning of each month at 7:30pm in Orland Park (see dates below). You will receive an email one week prior with the location. At that time you will be asked to rsvp. Please note the rsvp deadline is the day prior to the M&G (we cancel if no one has replied, so please don't forget). Please watch for this email (check your spam folder, just in case)! If you don't rsvp (yes or no), your application will be deleted. You may apply at any time by clicking the green Join Us button on our homepage. All profile questions need to be completed, and you need to upload a photo of yourself (with or without kids). If you do not plan on being active, then please do not join. This is for the safety of all our active members and their kids.
We understand evenings can be difficult for some moms; however, meeting without kids really works best because we cover a lot of information. We ask that you try to find a way to make this one time mandatory meeting. Convince Daddy he'll be fine for one evening. :-) We alternate between Wednesdays and Thursdays each month to accommodate moms who may have a prior commitment on certain days. That being said we understand there may be a reason (like you work in the evenings or have no sitter) that our scheduled time may be impossible for you. If that is the case, please email us when you receive the M&G invitation and give us dates and times during the first week of the month that work for you.
