Trip Overview:
Pilgrims have been making their way to the shrine of St James in Santiago de Compostela since AD814. The Camino de Santiago is implied to be a spiritual expedition in it's original form. A spiritual quest, the sense of physical accomplishment, friendship and amazing landscapes are all reasons why thousands of people make the pilgrimage each year. Traditionally its done on foot but completing this expedition on two wheels is a magical way to see more of this beautiful area and complete the 200km required to officially become a 'pilgrim'. We will be taking the 'Northern Way' route from Gijon in Asturias along its stunning rugged coastline and into Galicia, travelling through its magnificent mountain scenery up to Santiago de Compostela. These provinces have arguably the best food that Spain has to offer.
