Special Big Data Beers @ Plista

Happy new year Datums,

To properly begin 2014 we have prepared a special Big Data Beers event hosted by Plista (http://www.plista.com/en/), a Berlin-based advertisement optimization company with things such as collaborative filtering at the heart of its technology.

What's also exciting is that we will have Marcel Kornacker from Cloudera (http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera/en/home.html) to show and demonstrate Impala (http://blog.cloudera.com/blog/2012/10/cloudera-impala-real-time-queries-in-apache-hadoop-for-real/), which he is lead architect of. The rise of these fast ad-hoc query engines is very relevant nowadays and we will have an outstanding opportunity to see how one of them works and ask Marcel any question (our long Q&A sessions are already well known!).

And this time we'll have two talks, with a pause in the middle. Torben Brodt from Plista will also talk about their "Open Recommendation Platform". And by the way Plista will kindly sponsor the drinks this time. So, all in all, you can't possibly miss all this good stuff!
