eBay’s billion-item inventory in the Public Cloud

An eBay Listings database ingestion pipeline that processes 15 million new listings and dozens of millions of changes to listings in eBay’s 1.1 billion item database into the public Cloud is presented. eBay selected Google Cloud Platform’s “BigTable” for this purpose. The performance and scale was surprisingly good for a mixture of real-time and batch workloads.
