Spark is a very popular and effective framework to deal with batch, streaming data processing, and machine learning challenges nowadays. So far, there have been several APIs to work with Spark like Scala, Java, Python, and R but not .NET. In this session, I’m going to introduce you current challenges in data processing world, what is Spark and how it could be used to solve them and how we can use a brand new Spark .NET API to develop data processing jobs in Spark.

SPEAKER BIO: Sergiy Lunyakin is a big data architect at SoftServe Inc, with extensive experience designing and developing big data analytics, data warehouses, and business intelligence (BI) solutions, using both on-premises and cloud platforms. In 2016, Sergiy became a Microsoft Data Platform MVP and currently maintains MVP status. Knowledge sharing is one of his passions, as he regularly speaks at international conferences and local meetups.
