4th BigData/DataScience Cluj-Napoca meetup with Contest !!!

CONTEST :
We are glad to announce our first BigData/DataScience Contest!

We want you to take these GDELT datasets (http://gdeltproject.org/data.html#rawdatafiles) and to do crazy things with them.

You can analyze these datasets as you want : analyzing on your own or using already existing cloud solution, BigQuery or GDELT Analysis Service (http://gdeltproject.org/data.html).

During the 4th meetup you will have to present your projects and the public will choose the best of them. First three ones will win awesome prizes : FitBit Flex, Smartwatch ZeWatch2 and Google Chromecast.

Examples of cool analyzes you can do are :

• tracking the spread of terrorist groups.
• figure out whether the kidnapping of 200 Nigerian girls was a predictable event.
• heatmaps showing Crimea turn into a hotspot of activity leading up to ex-Ukrainian Viktor Yanukovych’s ouster and Russia’s subsequent invasion.

PS: Just a hint, visual representation of your analysis can impress the public.
