To see all meetups in this group: https://www.meetup.com/pro/ibm-community/
This is an IBM sponsored Meetup group geared towards developers, data scientists, data engineers, and ALL Big Data, Cloud and AI enthusiasts. Our meetups provide an opportunity to work hands on with the solutions and tools in our Big Data portfolio and to interact and share knowledge with experts at IBM and in our extended community. Our Meetups typically include a 45-60 minute presentation that serves as an introduction and overview for a specific Data or Cognitive topic, as well as other topics that the community is interested in. It is followed by a possible demonstration or networking with fellow developers to collaborate on applying your data skills. Depending upon the location, we can provide a cloud environment with the technologies needed, that you can use from your laptop at NO cost to you. Our meetups are FREE.
Meetup topics include (but are not limited to):
- Cognitive Solutions
- Artificial Intelligence
- Data Science
- Machine Learning
- Cloud Technologies
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Data Visualization
- Java development
- Open Source Technologies: Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, Python, R and others
- Data-centric Application Development
- Open Source Hadoop, SQL on Hadoop, R on Hadoop, Integration, Governance, ...
- Real Time Analytics & Stream Computing
- Text Analytics
- Relational and NOSQL Databases
- Predictive/Prescriptive Analytics

Please join the session that is best suited to your time zone...this topic is repeated at 2 different times.
This session is for anyone who has an interest in getting started with coding on quantum computers or would like to use their skills to work on an emerging technology like quantum.
In this sessions we'll be covering:
- Where to find resources for becoming a certified Qiskit developer.
- How you can engage with the Qiskit community through events such as hackathons and summer schools.
- Tips when applying for jobs related to quantum computing
- Our experience of getting into quantum computingNote that this is part 4 of a 4-session series "Quantum Horizon: Exploring the Frontier in Quantum Computing Careers" on Oct 25/26, Nov 8/9, Nov 29/30, Dec 6/7. The sessions are not prerequisites for each other, and are not recorded. We will provide reference links and do quick recaps of previous content as required, so if you miss an earlier session, you can still get value from subsequent sessions.
Presenters: Alex Edson, Arushi Karki
Alex Edson, in his role as one of IBM's Quantum Ambassadors, talks to a wide variety of clients and communicate the exciting opportunities that quantum computing can bring. His interest for quantum computing was sparked during his masters course in Theoretical Physics when he worked on simulating quantum noise reduction. In his day to day work as a DevSecOps engineer, he leverages cloud technologies to create secure and resilient platforms for public sector clients as well as shortening the software development lifecycle for software engineers.
Aarushi Karki's background in Physics, specialising in Biophysics and medical research procedures, has paved the way for her deep interest in quantum technologies for healthcare applications. With over 5+ years of experience in laboratory environments, she has cultivated a passion for bridging scientific theory with real-world solutions. As a new member of IBM's Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) Quantum Guild, she is excited to explore the exciting potential of quantum computing in healthcare and beyond.
In her day role, she is a data engineer developing efficient and reliable data pipelines. These pipelines automate the seamless movement of data from source to destination while performing necessary and efficient transformations along the way.
