Rasmus Wegener, a partner at Bain's office in Atlanta, leads Bain's internal big data effort and is Bain’s global expert on BigData and technology enabled business strategies. He directs Bain’s Technology Practice in Atlanta and Bain’s IT Practice activities across the US South. He’s extensively been quoted and published on the topic of BigData topic including in the WSJ, the Economist, Forbes, and the Financial Times. Rasmus focuses on business transformations across a broad range of industries. He is a seasoned advisor and partner to senior client executives and boards, regularly coordinating multi- national and multi-team Bain engagements in transformational settings.

He earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Tuebingen where he also studied medicine after completing his MS work at the University of Utah. Rasmus is a stipendiary of the German National Scholarship Foundation and a 1995 Fulbright grantee. His language skills include German (native), English (fluent), and French.
A German native, Rasmus is married to Cornelia Wegener, Ph.D.; they have two children. Their son Torlif (9) attends fourth grade at the Atlanta International School, their daughter Nollaig (5) attends Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool. Rasmus is a board member of the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta and the Partner lead of Bain Atlanta’s pro bono and community outreach efforts. The Wegener’s have called Atlanta home since early 2006.
