ASPEN (Feb 21-26) - Preceding Steamboat Trip

ASPEN is a renowned ski resort and mountain town in Colorado, known for its Four distinct neighboring mountains (Aspen, Snowmass, Highlands, & Buttermilk) and rich Western culture. It's a year-round destination offering a wide range of activities beyond skiing, including hiking, and exploring the natural hot springs. The resort itself boasts diverse terrain across its four peaks, catering to all skill levels, from beginner slopes to challenging glades and expert chutes.
Many people who will join on this trip will continue on to the XNM Steamboat Trip (which will start on Thursday Feb, 26). At the conclusion of this trip, we will drive north to Steamboat Springs. The drive from Aspen to Steamboat should be about 3 hours. Potential exists to add additional ski days, hot springs, or hikes on this travel day.
LODGING: Days Inn by Wyndham Carbondale - Guest Reservations
We will be staying at the Days Inn by Wyndham - Carbondale. It is situated right off of rt 82, and a straight shot down valley to the mountains (~45 minutes). We have a block of room reserved for 20 people, but have space for more. Each room has 2 Queen Beds. Potential exists to have 3 people in a room (1 King, 2 twins) for a reduced cost. Some amenities are indoor hot tub & pool, a fitness center, on site laundry, free breakfast, and free parking. Pricing is calculated with 2 people per room. Price is $485 per person for 5 nights (with 2 per room). We are currently collecting a $200 deposit, which is refundable until November 1st, or after that only with a replacement found. People may only stay 4 nights (arriving on Sunday). We will be refunding after the trip for the excess rooms not needed on the last night.

Cancellations after November 1st incur a $10 penalty and only refunded with replacement, and after December 1st, a $20 penalty.
FLIGHTS/TRANSPORTATION/CARPOOLS:
Carpooling will be organized by Facebook Messenger group chat and Google sheet. We have free parking.
LIFT TICKETS:
Most trip attendees will have Ikon Passes. All four peaks require IKON FULL PASS. If you are planning to purchase an Ikon Pass, reach out to John for more information on the group program. We do not have group discounted lift tickets for this trip specifically.

Roommate requests need to be given by January 1st so that we can backfill open spots with appropriate genders to keep same-sex rooms.
