Gunnison Camping Weekend! (hike, bike, climb, paddle)

Come spend the weekend near Gunnison with Big Mountain Adventures! We’ll be camping either at Hartman Rocks or near Blue Mesa Reservoir. This will be BLM dispersed camping but there should be pit toilets nearby.

~ Hartman Rocks has mountain
biking, rock climbing, and hiking.
~ Blue Mesa Reservoir is a beautiful lake to go swimming, paddling, and hiking.
~ There is also additional hiking and
biking nearby in Gunnison National Forest

What to Bring:

• Plenty of water!
• Food and snacks
• Tent and sleep system
• Swimsuit
• Sunscreen
• And anything you may need for the sport you plan to participate in!

I will go down on Thursday to find us a campsite and will post the coordinates in the comments section.

*Well behaved dogs are allowed. If you will be climbing, they MUST be on a leash while we are at the crag.

*These trips have a limit for a reason, please do not show up unannounced if you are not on the going list or bring any additional +1s if they are not listed. People under the age of 21 are generally not permitted as alcohol is often consumed on these trips. I do track attendance so please update your RSVP at least 48 hour prior to the start of the event if you’re no longer able to attend.

*By signing up for any overnight BMAD trip you are agreeing and self-certifying that you are not a convicted sex offender, nor have you been convicted of a felony, or violent crime. If either of these are a point you wish to discuss with specifics, reach out to John Harper.

*Our group maintains no liability for actions of any individuals, and these trips are attended at your own risk. Financial risk is also assumed by individual trip members when things happen outside of our control, such as if a house that the group has rented gets canceled by the owners, or flights canceled, etc. Honest mistakes happen from time to time, and as we are not an official business operating with any profit to trip organizers, attendees also assume risk due to honest mistakes of organizers.
