Welcome to The Big Smoke Variety Show!
We are a new podcast hosted by Kevin Bennett, taking inspiration from classic TV variety shows and late night chat shows with a theatrical bent towards exploring the ancient rituals of gathering and community.
In our world, where the algorithms of social media are driving humanity further and further apart, The Big Smoke, by its very nature, will bring unexpected audiences together for a variety show, the likes of which they have never heard.

We're super excited to announce the Big Smoke Book Club, as well as our first selected book and meeting date!
Here at The Big Smoke Variety Show, we love books – and wish we read more of them! So we're starting a Book Club in order to further our literary pursuits, and chat with you about yours!
Our first book club selection will be Queer as Folklore, a wonderful new book by Sacha Coward – which radically explores the untold queer histories of myths and monsters. The hardback is out now, with the paperback coming out on May 1st!
The best bit of a book club is the community discussion. So circle Sunday the 29th June 5pm BST in your calendar for our first virtual book club meeting!
