Title: Zero configurations dbt: how we supercharged dbt into a self-service platform

Abstract:
We have been building and maintaining data lakes for a long time. We are experienced in ingesting data to our lake, enriching the data, and querying it. What we don't have is a proper way to view the connections between tables, understand the impact of a table modification on our pipelines, or proper documentation. At Yotpo, dbt is the answer to these problems. We needed data analysts and dev teams to adopt it and have a fast learning curve to get the maximum value out of it. To achieve that, we've built the Yoda platform, an extension of dbt, enriched with the Yotpo CLI that simplifies the dbt configurations and environment setup process. In this talk, I will introduce you to the Yoda platform and demonstrate how easy it is to use it to get a working dbt setup and create dbt models. We will discuss the advantages Yoda brings to our day-to-day work with data at Yotpo by simplifying dbt and more.

Title: Wrangling complex geospatial analytics with dbt

Abstract:
Nexar is building a digital twin of Earth’s roads. From road signs and construction zones to available parking spots, we glean insights about the public sphere from dashcam footage and overlay them atop the road network. Our customers use that data to improve road safety, innovate smarter navigation, better road maintenance and more. However, making sense of geospatial data is messy and complex. Join us to learn how the Nexar data team wields dbt to manage that complexity, make more out of less, and foster trust in data across the company and beyond.
