Join us for our next meeting on Wednesday, June 18 at the Brazen Tavern (W. 44th Street, upstairs)! 🗓️
🍻 Happy hour starts at 6 PM, followed by our meeting at 7 PM.
🌊 Guest Speaker: Heison Chak, a Fundamentals, Technical, and CCR instructor at Global Underwater Explorers (GUE), has been instrumental in promoting dive safety and leadership within the global diving community. With over a decade of teaching experience, Heison has served in leadership roles at the Ontario Underwater Council and currently contributes to GUE’s Quality and Risk Management Team. Beyond diving, Heison engages in photography, badminton, cycling, and is involved in instructor training programs to mentor future diving leaders.
From Elite to Accessible: The New Era of Rebreather Training" discusses the transformation of rebreather diving from an exclusive pursuit for elite technical divers to a more accessible option for a broader community. Advances in training methods and the rising cost of helium have played crucial roles in this evolution, making rebreather technology available to divers with foundational technical skills rather than extensive open circuit experience. This shift allows more divers to safely explore rebreather diving within recreational depth limits, highlighting its implications for safety, training, and career development in the diving community.
✨ Pre-event Social: Join the Board at Happy Hour! The first 15 new attendees will receive $15 in Club Cash for food and beverages! Come meet us and your fellow divers! 🍔🥤
