Join us for a 5-6 mile hike in the Everglades National Park!

Meet at Coe Visitor Center at 8 am Thursday January 29. From there we will head out promptly at 8:15 to Long Pine key, park our cars and start down the trailhead for a moderate/easy hike 2.5-3 mph pace. We will hike approximately 3 miles before heading back. Alternatively, depending on participants, we will leave some cars at Glades lake, shuttle back to trailhead to hike the 6 miles to the left behind cars and then all drive back to the cars at start point.
Take enough water, minimum 32 oz, hat, mosquito repellent, sunscreen. We will stop for a break/snack after 3 miles. No benches, bring something to sit on if you want to. Part of trail is shaded, many sections are not. It should be dry this time of year. Check forecast to see if you need rain gear.
We should be finished by 1 pm (depending on group pace). We will hike together, Lorraine will lead, Bonnie will sweep. No need to confirm, but you can sign up in meetup if you would like. We will leave together promptly at 8:15 from the Coe visitor center, so please be on time. We will proceed rain or shine!
Stop at Robert Is Here after the hike is a strong possibility. Non members are very welcome.
