Abstract: Want the equivalent of great taste and no calories when setting up your cloud data lake? See how you can have the full experience of Snowflake/Databricks for a fraction of the cost. I will show you how to simplify your architecture by leaving data with your cloud provider of choice and using BigQuery Omni, which gives you all the capabilities and performance without the expensive egress costs.

Bio: Nate Snapp has been a data engineer for the past 15 years, working at companies such as Adobe and Palo Alto Networks. He recently built out a data lake for Temporal Technologies (durable execution company) using the techniques in the abstract. Currently, he is in the early stages of developing online content for data and AI through nufty.codes and selfawarenow.ai (both coming soon!)
