Ancient history this month and with the Terracotta Warriors in town, we had better have a look at some of the early Chines dynasties.
According to Google AI:
"The period in Early China from 1600-250 BC encompasses the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600–1046 BCE), marked by advancements in bronze casting and writing on oracle bones, and the Zhou Dynasty (1046–256 BCE), which introduced concepts like the "Mandate of Heaven" and saw the philosophical flourishing of thinkers like Confucius, Mencius, and Xunzi, laying the groundwork for later Chinese imperial history", before a descent into the Warring States period that eventually marked the end of the Zhou dynasty.
The meetup will focus on this period and the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
***Rather than a presentation or lecture, the idea will be for attendees to do their own prior research which they can then contribute with at the event. You are also welcome to attend of course without researching or having anything to share.***
