⛰🌿🌻 Captain's Roost Hike through Griffith Park Observatory! 🔭☀️☁️

Captain's Roost - October 11th

Join us for a hike at Griffith Park! This is a moderately challenging hike. We start near the observatory and travel through the Berlin Forest and land at the Captain's Roost before heading back. Along the trail, you will be rewarded with stunning views overlooking Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. This trail has a gradual incline towards Captain's Roost. Some sections are sandy and scramble-like due to loose dirt.

START TIME: 9am however getting there early is better to get a parking spot. The hike should take approx 2.5 hours, with some time in the middle to eat a snack.
HIKE TYPE: Out and Back
DISTANCE: It's approx. 4.1 miles
ELEVATION: 810 feet elevation gain
MEETING LOCATION:, meet at the boy scout trailhead at boy scout road near commonwealth Canyon Ave. Parking can be difficult when busy so please arrive early. Parking lot is just past the Franklin's Cafe and Market
RESTROOMS: There are NO Restrooms at the trail head, so please use facilities prior to meeting up.
DOGS: 🦮DOGS ON LEASH OKAY!
WHAT TO BRING: BRING 2-3 LITERS OF WATER, A HAT, SUNSCREEN, COMFORTABLE SHOES, SNACKS, LIGHT JACKET.
AFTER HIKE: Lunch at Los Feliz Cafe- 3207 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039
