What we're about
Upcoming events (1)
Please arrive at 8:45am so you have time to unload your bike, get ready and say hello to friends. We leave promptly at 9:00am.
Today’s ride takes us from Sycamore Park (off Alicia and the 5) to Cook’s Corner and back. After the ride we'll drive to my house in RSM for a Backyard BBQ to celebrate the holiday and kick off the start of summer!!
Bike route is 16 miles round trip. Click here for the map: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35557622
This ride will be at a moderate pace, with an average speed of 10-14 mph. We regroup at major junctions but all riders must work to keep up with the group. This is a no-drop ride, however, if you misjudged your riding speed and end up falling too far back and are unable to keep up within a reasonable amount of time at the regroup junctions, notify me or someone else in the group, especially if you plan to turn around.
You will need to navigate yourself at that point, so please read the route map thoroughly and either memorize it, print the cue sheet or send the route to your phone to navigate back to your car.
Bring the usual items: cell phone, water, helmet, snacks and a flat repair kit. Road bikes and hybrids with at least 7 gears are best suited for this ride.
For the BBQ: bring whatever protein you’d like to grill with you to store in a cooler in your car during the ride, along with a dish to share with the group. I will also have a big cooler in my truck if you need to use it while we ride. Ideas for sides: salads, appetizers, dessert. Christina will have bbq sauce and corn on the cob for everyone.
If you are not planning to attend both parts of this event, please let us know in the comments section which you ARE attending. Otherwise, I will assume you are attending both.
Address will be provided closer to the date (via text message) to those who RSVP. It’s a 15 minute drive from Sycamore Park.
Looking forward to a nice ride, social time, and good eats with friends! It's about time we do this! 😊
