Silverwater Bridge via Cooks river path

Details

Ride leader – Tim Coen
Meet at 8.15 am at the ‘Yarning Circle’, Cooks River pathway at the Lang Road pedestrian/bike bridge and kayak launch place (not far from Dulwich Hill Light Rail station).
Inner west light rail is available – the ride start/finish point is not far from the Dulwich Hill railway station and light rail stop (terminus).
Plan to leave on the ride at 8.30am. Approx. 45 kms, should finish by approx. 12.30 to 1 pm.
We’ll ride along the Cooks River pathway to Rookwood then back streets to Bicentennial Park, onto Rhodes, over the Wentworth Point bridge and along the southern side of Parramatta River to the Armoury café.
After a coffee break we will go west onto the Silverwater Bridge, cross over to the north bank of the Parramatta river then head east to Meadowbank, go south over the Rhodes Bridge and return to Dulwich Hill via the same Cooks River route.
Plenty of stops to regroup. Numerous toilet stops too. There are also bail out points at Wentworth Point (ferry), Rhodes, Meadowbank and West Concord (train stations).
There are a few on road spots that need care. If the weather is good there will likely be many pedestrians and other bike riders about. We will take care, take our time and have a safe and enjoyable ride.
Bring your Opal card. Water especially if it's hot.
A bicycle you're comfortable on for up to 50 klms. It's mainly on good paths but there are some on road sections to negotiate. Please carry a spare tube and equipment to fix a flat tyre.
