Ride Leader Training and Test Prep

Details
Have you been riding with Bike Leichhardt for some time now, like our style of rides, and think putting on a ride is something you could do and would like to do?
Organising and leading rides is quite different to riding on your own or riding as one of a group.
Ellen and I are doing a training day. We already have two of our regular riders who have expressed interest, and we want to give the opportunity to others who may have been thinking of doing the course.
Competence in bike riding and route planning is only a small part of
the commitment required to organise safe, enjoyable and memorable rides.
If you are already a ride leader and would like a refresher, that would be
great too. Also we may need a couple of actors.
Please note, this will be somewhat boring if you are just looking for a ride. There is a lot of stopping and starting, talking and listening. There is also some prep work beforehand. It can be stressful.
If you are looking for a ride on this date, look for Marlene's ride which she will put up.
Please note that there are specific requirements by ourselves and Bike NSW to becoming a ride leader. Even if you do the course and test, we may ask you to redo either or both another time or wait a while.
If you have any questions, or want to ask if you think it would be worthwhile for you, ask myself or Ellen before you commit. (Even if there is a waitlist we are likely to re-arrange particpants)
The course will require cycling, so the usual requirements will hold.
The ride will be between the 'Yarn circle' at the Lang Rd Bridge and Brighton Beach. The prep work will be to map the ride, noting hazards, toilets, and a number of other items.
