Sculptures, swim & sea
Details
Meet at the Oxford St mall entrance of the Bondi Junction train station. We'll head to the central part of the Sculpture by the Sea walk at Marks Lane Park via Bondi road for 3.5klms which can be busy but is downhill and traffic is usually slowish.
We'll park and lock our bikes at Mark, walk south for about 2 klms to the end of the sculpture trail at Tamarama (BRING A HAT AND WATER). Possible coffee stop at Tamarama or maybe later at North Bondi. Time too to head towards Bondi Icebergs to see all the sculptures. We'll return to our bikes then head to North Bondi (coffee?), on to Ben Buckler point and through Dover Heights to Neilson Park for a look-see. Then to Parsley Bay and Watsons Bay, have a ride through the National Park to Camp Cove and back to Watsons Bay baths for a swim and/or a light lunch at the nearby cafe.
We will hop on a ferry back to Circular Quay, so bring your Opal card.
Bring sun hat, sunblock, water, comfortable walking shoes, swimmers and towel.
All the usual conditions apply, ie helmet, pump, spare tube, tools and also a good bike lock for when we walk the sculpture trail.
Approx distance 25 klms and there are HILLS and traffic at times. Not for beginners. Estimated to take almost 3 hours depending on walking and swimming time.
If its raining heavily on the day the ride will be cancelled.
