Official Opening M12 cycleway
Details
M12 cycleway official opening - Saturday 9 May
Catch a train to Rooty Hill station. Meet at 11am on the North parade (commuter carpark) side of the station for an undulating 17 klm bike path ride to Wylde MTB & BMX park for the official opening of the Emu Trail to the airport.
No shops along the way or at Wylde park so have your coffee before we set off and bring lunch to eat there too.
We'll observe the official opening - then for those interested we can ride on to the impressive Emu sculpture and a bit further to see the new airport in the distance.
We'll retrace our steps to Wylde park then back to Rooty Hill station to get a train back home. I expect to leave Wylde park well before 3 pm.
Approx 44 klms if you choose to visit the Emu sculpture/ airport view.
Celebrate the new shared user path at this community event, with pop‑up stalls including free bicycle servicing and afternoon tea.
