Loftus to Bundeena via Audley

Catch the train to LOFTUS station. From Central at about 8.15 am.
Meet at Loftus station. A ride on some sealed sections with traffic but mostly on unsealed and sealed low traffic routes. Approx. 35 klms with much off-road. Not suitable for narrow-tyred road bikes.
Ride through back streets and a short stretch along the Princes Highway (with a wide apron) then onto a track through the bush to the Environment Centre, then onto the sealed road (narrow but slower traffic) to Audley Weir.
Stop for a coffee & last toilet stop.
Onto Lady Carrington Road track (unsealed) to join Wallumarra Fire trail (we will check if its usable), there is a steep ascent for a while then it levels out and joins Sir Bertram Stevens Drive (sealed) for a gradual descent into Bundeena. The traffic is usually not heavy. The ride ends at Bundeena.
We can have another coffee or lunch, catch the ferry to Cronulla and then a train from Cronulla station.
Fuller details to be advised once the recce ride is completed on Mon. 27 July. This is a small group ride and be aware there are no 'bail out points' along the way, so you need a bike in good condition.
All the usual stuff. Good bike, tube (or two?), tools, water no water available past Audley), sun block, helmet and obey NSW road rules. If you're ill or think you might be getting something please don't come.
