Cooks River, fields, ferry, Silverwater and return
Details
Gather at the fountain on Lackey St at Summer Hill at 8.30 for an 8.45 am start. For this almost 50klm sedate ride on mostly shared paths. There will be many pedestrians along the way.
We'll go through back streets to join the Cooks River path at Croydon Park heading west and then through Strathfield to Concord West station then head east along 'The Drive' and through the fields of the Dame Edith Walker Estate, south along the Concord Foreshore trail and through a few back streets to the Mortlake vehicle ferry. We'll go across the Parramatta river on the free ferry to Putney Point. Up the hill and along a few streets then onto shared paths. past Meadowbank heading west to the Silverwater Bridge, over the bridge then east through Wentworth Point, over the Bennelong Bridge to Rhodes, through Bicentennial Park and back onto the Cooks River path past Canterbury racecourse to the Yarning circle & Lang Road bridge, up the Hill past Dulwich Hill light rail stop onto the Greenway and return to our stating point at Summer Hill.

It's a about a 50 klm riverside meander with the ferry and a few hills esp. at Summer Hill and Putney Point.
There are bail out points along the way. inc. train and ferries at any of the wharves along the way.
Bring a spare tube, tools and pump to repair a flat tyre, helmet, water, sunblock, etc. And your Opal card if you want to bail out along the way.
Please do not come if you are feeling unwell.
