Thursday Mountain Bike Ride — In the Dells

Details
Starting at the North Peavine Trailhead, we’ll head south and turn left onto the singletrack Headwaters Trail. Our next turn will be right onto the double track Powerline Trail, and at the Y we’ll take a left onto Eagle Trail, then keep right on Red Tail. Red Tail sweeps down to a deep ravine with fairly steep switchbacks that are definitely rideable. From here, we head back to the Peavine and ride south to the Hobbit Trail. From the start of the Hobbit, we’ll take the Soggy Bottom Trail which is a short 1 mile loop. This is a delightful and fun little loop with some technical features that can easily be walked around. (You can always remain on the Hobbit Trail and continue to the end where it’s shady and wait for the rest of the group to join you to visit the Hobbit tunnel.) Then it’s back to the Peavine heading south to the Iron King Trail and then to the Headwaters Trail. We’ll stay on the Headwaters in its entirety this time to the Peavine Trail, and from there back to our start.
I would advise bringing a mountain bike or an e-bike for this one. Casual pace, easy ride. Helmets are required. 15 miles and an easy 850 feet of climbing.
