Sunday π&π β Lazy G Ride [SW x S (x SE)]
Details
It looks like Sunday will be the last fairly mild β and dry! β day for a while, so come out in the morning for a route that (mostly) tracks the last "half" of the course for the End of the Road Ride.
The ride starts across from the Lazy G β at Granite Street and Leroux. (If you drive, please park along Granite and NOT in the lazy G parking lot.) We'll head out on leroux to make a right turn onto Montezuma, followed by a turn at the traffic light onto Copper Basin Road. We will ride on up to the end of the pavement for the first regrouping, then descend to Gilliganβs (at the corner of Copper Basin and Whitespar) for another (brief) regrouping. Next, we'll head out on Whitespar to Ponderosa Park Road, then out to the end of the pavement in Ponderosa Park. We'll finish by going back to Whitespar, down to Haisley, and up Senator Highway a few miles to beautiful Goldwater Lake. Finally, we will ride back down Senator to descend into town. (To return to our starting point at Granite & Leroux β i.e., Lazy G β we'll turn left onto Carleton for a few blocks to Cortez, then turn left to get to Leroux and finally right for the home stretch.)
The route is about 22 miles, with approximately 2,100 feet of climbing. As indicated, there will be a number of regroupings to keep everyone together. (Plus, because of the multiple-leg nature of the route, there will be several places to shorten it, if desired.)
This can be a rather challenging ride β but fun, with a casual attitude β so please come out to join us! As always, e-bikes are welcome. Helmets are required, lights are strongly advised, and earbuds are discouraged.
