Bike Pct - Tour de Tucson- Day 1

Time to start planning to attend our annual tour in Tucson. Three days of riding planned, I will post each day separately. Today we ride through Saguaro East Nat'l Monument. If you have done it before you'll remember how beautiful it is. This year I've altered the ride and we won't go to Colossal Cave. Start at 9 am in the parking lot of Walmart, 2711 S Houghton Rd. Usually gather in the SW corner. Ride north on Houghton then R onto Old Spanish Trail, then L into park. If you have a Senior Parks pass we can get in for free. After making the park loop we are back on Old Spanish Trail- L out of park. Next we will turn R onto E Valencia Rd. Then about a mile past Houghton we will turn R onto paved loop trail. ( We will be on this on Thursday loop ride). WE will be on this for about 6 miles then R onto Old Spanish Trail, then R onto Houghton and back to Walmart.
Route is 26 miles and 1200 ft climbing. Nice warm up.
Wed evening we usually eat around 6 PM at El Charro downtown. Great Mexican food. Location is 311 N Court Ave. I'll be making reservations so let me know if you are in.
