Sporting a keen sense of adventure? An insatiable appetite for the outdoors?? A wicked craving something grilled???

Well then good thing you found your way to SoCAL Bikes, Boards & Bites – where the pavement ends, the adventure begins...

Our goal is to meet other SoCal trail riders with a keen sense of adventure. Our mission is to promote, protect and preserve the California trail experience through advocacy, education and responsible recreational mountain biking. Our group will also feature photography and other outdoor related events and during the winter season, transition into more snowboarding and skiing related events.

If you're looking for the perfect snowboarding trip. Look no further as our events will feature an array of snow-filled destinations. Whether you're an advanced/intermediate rider or you're looking learn the basics or some new techniques, one of our events should be able to fill that need.

NOTE: (Please read prior to joining!)
As a matter of policy, we require at least a picture of yourself on your group profile or as one of the pictures on your general Meetup account for purposes of identification.

In compliance with Meetup.com's Terms of Service, you must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for membership. We do not knowingly approve for membership account profiles created by persons under age eighteen (18).

Malibu Creek State Park

THIS IS A NO HOST EVENT! (This is not a SoCalB3 event. This is an event hosted by the fine folks at CORBA which I think is a great event for riders of all levels.) NOTE: This event is being cross posted since CORBA has also joined Meetup. The verbiage hereinbelow are derived directly from their Meetup event posting. Presented by the Concerned Off Road Bicyclists Association (http://corbamtb.com/), the Introduction to Mountain Biking Skills Clinic is held the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in Malibu Creek State Park (http://www.venturacountytrails.org/TrailMaps/MalibuCreek/AreaTrails.htm).

PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 8:45 TO SIGN IN AND HAVE YOUR BIKE SAFETY-CHECKED.
The class is free of charge to all participants, please RSVP via MeetUp if possible. The class covers several skills including proper seated rider position, controlled braking and slow speed technical maneuvering, pedaling cadence/gear use, and proper riding position and technique for climbing, cornering, and descending. Also discussed are tips on backcountry preparedness, shared use etiquette, and simple maintenance tips.

What To Bring: Mountain bike in good working condition Helmet Water High energy snack Appropriate clothing for existing conditions Helmets are mandatory for all participants.

Directions: To get to Malibu Creek State Park, take the Ventura Freeway (101) to Calabasas, exit Las Virgenes Road/Malibu Canyon. Go south 3.5 miles. You will cross Mulholland Highway and go another 1/4 mile to the entrance to Malibu Creek State Park on the right. Just past the ranger kiosk to the left is a large gravel parking lot that runs parallel to the road. This is where the skills clinic participants meet. Do not go to the lower paved parking lot.

From Santa Monica, take Pacific Coast Highway north to Malibu Canyon Road and turn Right. Go 6 miles to the park entrance on your left.
Once in the park, Look for the large parking lot on the left. This is where the group meets. There is usually a sign or someone in a CORBA shirt. If this lot is full or closed continue to the next one.

Ski/Snowboard at Snowbird! Ikon Pass resort! Swweeeet!

Needs a location

We are heading to Snowbird in Utah to snowboard/ski. Grab your Ikon Pass and snowboard or skis and let's hit up Snowbird (or Alta) Ski Resort.

Our ski-in/ski-out condo is reserved from Friday, 12/9 to Friday, 12/16. You can stay Friday to Sunday like I am or you can stay until Friday 12/16 (check out is firm at 10AM). I plan to fly into SLC on Friday 12/9 and fly out on Sunday 12/11.
