Yoshihama Beach in Yugawara, Kanagawa.

-At the border of Shizuoka Pref. and Kanagawa Pref., there lies a town called Yugawara. Famous for its luscious onsen facilities and ryokans, it has mountains, hiking trails, and the lesser known, a beautiful beach.
In this session I'll introduce Yugawara, starting with the beach (and not the onsen, like it is usually done) and I will go around and explain to you some must-see sightseeing spots as well as my personal favorite places in the town.

Intended audience:

1. Form a foreign country or new to Japan?)
   Have you ever wanted to find places to travel just hours away from Tokyo? Nowadays, you can find a lot of information on the internet, whether it be a foreign expat who've traveled around Japan, or a English web-media based in Japan (i.e. Metropolis, Tokyo Weekender), or just the trustworthy google-sensei. But the real information, the best kept secrets are held by the locals. In this session I'll share bits and pieces of information I collected from locals over the last 5-6 years.

2. Are you Japanese and learning English?
   Grammar, vocabulary, tone, pitch accent, pronunciation(aah!). These are important things when learning English, but a crucial factor is being able to talk about where you're from (JAPAN!).
   This is something schools rarely teach.

Let's talk and discuss about how you can talk various things about the country. Some of the most generic, ordinary things in your neighborhood, could be like an exotic gem, or other-worldly discovering to someone from a foreign country.

このセッションでは、湯河原を温泉ではなくビーチから紹介し、湯河原の必見の観光スポットや私の個人的なお気に入りの場所を紹介していきます。

   東京から数時間で行ける旅行先を探したいと思ったことはありませんか？最近では、日本を旅したことのある外国人の方や、日本に拠点を置く英語のウェブメディア（Metropolis, Tokyo Weekenderなど）、あるいは信頼できるGoogle先生など、インターネットで多くの情報を得ることができます。しかし、本当の情報や秘密は、地元の人たちが持っています。このセッションでは、私が過去5-6年の間に地元の人々から収集した情報の断片を共有します。

2. あなたは日本人でありながら英語を学んでいますか？
   文法、ボキャブラリー、トーン、ピッチアクセント、発音(あー！)。これらは英語を学ぶ上で重要なことですが、決定的に重要なのは、自分の出身地（日本！）について話すことができるかどうかです。
   これは学校ではほとんど教えてくれません。

ここでは、その国についていろいろなことを話せるようになるために、話し合ってみましょう。あなたの近所にあるごく一般的な普通のものでも、外国から来た人にとっては、エキゾチックな宝石のようなものであったり、別世界の発見であったりするのです。
