About us
The Billy DeFrank Center is part of the fabric on The Alameda and throughout the County with people coming to play Rainbow Bingo on Wednesdays, participating in the ‘Vintage means Valuable’ vibrant older adult 50+ group, and hosting Gaymes in the Queer Library attracting large numbers of younger queer, trans/nonbinary, gender fluid folks. The Center embraces a large number of discussion and leadership groups, and diverse social activities and special events.
To this day, the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center is recalibrating how to serve the community and allies The Center continues to be a beacon of hope, a 3rd Place where you get to be who you really are.

Queer Crafting, Crocheting, Knitting
Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center, 938 The Alameda, San Jose, CA, USJoin the fabulous trend of crafting, crocheting and knitting! This is a warm, inclusive space for everyone 18+, regardless of gender or orientation. Newcomers are absolutely welcome, and there’s a stash of donated yarn ready to spark your imagination.
Bring a work-in-progress or start something new—you’ll find friendly faces and helping hands. Whether you’re picking up a hook, needles, or just curious to begin, someone will gladly show you the basics and cheer you on through your first stitches.

Looking for a space where you can be yourself and not be judged? Looking to meet other bi-pan+ people to discuss issues unique to us? Wanna make some new friends? Need some support while coming out? Hoping to build a bigger and better bi-pan+ community? Formerly known as Bisexuals and Friends, we are a group for bi-pan+ people: anyone who is bisexual, pansexual, biromantic, panromantic, omnisexual, queer, or anything else under the bi-pan+ umbrella. We also welcome friends, allies, and anyone who is questioning.
