We exuberantly invite you to join us for a very special Biodanza weekend in Philadelphia with a Master Teacher and lineage holder!
At its core, Biodanza is a practice on cultivating the beauty of life. The dance is a call to our collective re-enchantment with the heart and its affective power to lead us from chaos back to reverent, humane order.
Together we will journey through an exquisite blend of music, movement, and relational encounter, skillfully interwoven to promote self-expression, aliveness, open-heartedness, and a deep respect for the sanctity of embodied life.
Suitable for all bodies and experience levels, our weekend fosters a deeply supportive, inclusive community. Come explore your majestic inner rhythm and connect with that of others. The Dance of Life promises a true feast for soma and soul!
What is Biodanza?
The word “Biodanza” literally translates, from Spanish, to mean “The Dance of Life.” Founded in the 1960s by Chilean anthropologist and psychologist Rolando Toro, it is an elegant system of somatic and relational self-development that combines dance, music, archetypal gestures, and intentional connection to stimulate five lines of human potential: vitality, sexuality, creativity, affectivity, and transcendence. It fosters reconnection with our vital instincts, our emotions, our bodies, and our in-the-flesh relationship with each other as dynamic, feeling human beings. Sometimes referred to as “The Poetry of Human Encounter,” it is truly a Masterclass in embodied Love!
About the facilitator:
Carolina Churba is a Master Teacher, direct lineage holder, and leading world-figure of Biodanza.
Having grown up in Buenos Aires where she met Rolando Toro when she was only 18, she is one of the first international facilitators exporting this practice from South America to the rest of the world.
A true pioneer, she brought Biodanza to Africa where she taught and ran a school for 23 years. Most recently, she was the beloved Director of the Rhode Island School of Biodanza from which she graduated 18 new facilitators. Carolina has bridged continents through dance and has personally trained almost 100 teachers worldwide.
About the co-host:
Ashley King brings nearly two decades of experience as a somatic psychotherapist and facilitator, drawing from traditions that honor the intelligence of the body, the power of emotional truth, and the poetics of embodied relationship. Her work weaves together mindfulness, relational depth, and an artful sensitivity to what is unapologetically alive. She is the founder of Psychoalchemy.com and Biodanza Philly, where she is growing a vibrant community of enthusiasts for the Dance of Life.
Date and Time: Friday 2/27 7-9pm, Saturday 2/28 10-5pm, Sunday 3/1 11:30-5pm
