Besides the usage in the scientific and medical community, the serie also zooms in on do-it-yourself biohackers like Josiah Zayner and Tristan Robberts. During the interactive talk we discuss the different themes of the serie.   • Gary Wolf: archiving quantified self data (The Hague)

    Gary Wolf will give a lecture at the National Archive (Nationaal Archief) in The Hague. Gary Wolf is an author, contributing editor at WIRED magazine and is one of the founding members (with Kevin Kelly) of the worldwide Quantified Self Community. In 2010 he spoke about the movement at TED Cannes. During his interactive talk at the National Archive Gary will talk about the current trends and issues around personal data and quantified self. He will especially focus on archiving, privacy and ethics. The Quantified Self Netherlands community is invited as well! The meetup will be from 16.00 to 18.00 at the National Archive, next to the train station Den Haag Centraal. There is limited space, so please be quick to register your seat for this lecture. While touching other disciplines of science –virtual reality, complex adaptive systems, nutrition and food technology- most of his research is related to food but in the broadest way possible.     Hi all, As we're gearing up for the Quantified Self Europe Conference 2014 (May 10-11 in Amsterdam), many international QS'ers will be in Amsterdam. We want to give you all the opportunity to meet each other, so we're organizing a free, international QS meetup on Friday May 9 16:30 @ FreedomLab. Gary Wolf (co-founder of Quantified Self), Ernesto Ramirez (Program director) and many international QS organizers and members will be present. We will be hosting a session (17:00-18:00) with Gary Wolf on the future challenges of Quantified Self. If you want to know more about what's currently happening on the forefront of QS and what you should be thinking about next, be sure to be there! After the session, we'll be hosting casual drinks with great Indian food. There will be some fingerfood available, but you can also buy fresh made Indian food by Joeri Tandoeri. And we'll also have a few special Amsterdam craft beers for you to taste, so be sure to be there :-) We're looking forward to meeting you all!
