Dr Ben Busby (Senior Alliance Manager at NVIDIA) will talking on "Ideas for Accelerated & Integrated Compute in Imaging, Genomics, and Devices across Biobank-Scale Datasets"

Welcome to the age of agentic AI, where compute meets context and large-scale biomedical data finally gets the infrastructure it deserves. As our tools evolve from scripts and pipelines to intelligent, context-aware systems, the interfaces we use to interact with data, from
genomics to neuroimaging, are being reimagined. This talk will explore how accelerated and integrated compute is reshaping the landscape of biobank-scale datasets, weaving together genomics, imaging, and device data with some serious computational muscle.

Expect a whirlwind tour through:

  • Ultra-fast sequence alignment and real-time annotation
  • Generative models for synthetic medical imaging
  • Knowledge graphs as dynamic memory systems
  • Single-cell analysis at population scale
  • On-device AI for edge-biotech applications
  • Estimating cis/trans effects on variant penetrance via haploblock architecture
  • MRI at scale: use cases in dementia and neurodegeneration

We’ll close by tackling the unglamorous but essential bits: validation, contextualisation, and the digital hygiene required to keep model-generated data from becoming biomedical junk DNA. Think of it as a roadmap toward smarter, faster, and more trustworthy data-driven
