Art & Science, you ask? They seem like polar opposites, but both Science and Art are dedicated to asking the big questions before us: What is true? Why does it matter? How can we move society forward? No two communities are more central to conquering modern day global societal issues than Science and Art. Is there power in combining these disciplines? We are doing the experiment.

A multi-media event, Ligo Project Art of Science - Gallery Night will provide a way for the community to learn about and explore scientific innovation through different artistic media. Discover cool science-inspired art and a unique way to hear about the scientific research happening in NYC!

Ligo Project Art of Science - Gallery Night will showcase work that has been created by artists:

· Tislarm Bouie (Choreographer) · Nick Dunston (Musician)

· Sara Morawetz (Interdisciplinary Artist) · Shauna Sorensen (Visual Artist)

Ligo Project Art of Science is a six-month artist-in residence program that allows each artist the opportunity to interact with scientists, learn about a specific area of scientific research and, from these interactions, create a piece of art inspired by the science. Ligo Project Art of Science aims to make science more accessible, using the universal language of art as a vehicle to promote science innovation and explore fundamental questions that interest and affect us all.

Ligo Project is a non-profit organization focused on transforming the face of innovation in life science by connecting people with diverse expertise and experiences--who might shed an interesting perspective on new ways to employ existing ideas and technologies. We strive to take scientific ideas and innovations and make them more accessible to entrepreneurs, investors, inventors, creatives, patients, and the tech community so that we can work together to apply them to real world problems more creatively, more quickly and less expensively.
