------------
*Our group is centered around the experiences and needs of BIPOC individuals, as we recognize the historical and systemic inequalities they have faced. By focusing on BIPOC, we aim to create a space that addresses their unique challenges, empowers their voices, and fosters a sense of community. However, it is important to note that our group is not exclusive to other races. We welcome and value the participation of individuals from all racial backgrounds who are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
**In our group, we prioritize inclusivity and believe that every individual should be respected and valued for who they are. When we say that our group is inclusive of women, we mean that it encompasses all individuals who identify as women, regardless of their gender assigned at birth or how they express their identity. Our aim is to create a supportive and accepting environment where all women, including transgender women, non-binary individuals, and women with diverse gender identities, feel comfortable and included.

Updated Date- James River Adventure - Buttermilk Trail (Richmond)
Location not specified yetDue to a conflict in my schedule — please note the new date for this hike. Thank you!!
**********
Join me on an urban Richmond hike. The Buttermilk Trail hugs the south bank of the James River, offering stunning river views, rocky outcroppings, and that rare feeling of being deep in nature while still inside the city.At around 5 miles with 417 feet of elevation gain, this is our longest hike of the spring series but also our most gradual since the North Bank Trail hike in February, thus a great confidence builder for anyone working toward bigger adventures. The trail winds through Forest Hill and along the riverbank all the way toward Belle Isle, with the James as your constant companion.
What to expect**:**
A mix of rugged rocky sections and smooth riverside paths. Late April means the James will be lively and wildflowers will be poppingWhat to bring:
Sturdy hiking shoes or trail runners, water, sunscreen, and a snack. The terrain can be uneven so trekking poles are welcome.
Dogs are ok, just note there will be mountain bikers on this trail, and in many sections it is narrow.Pace**: Moderate, social pace welcoming to all experience levels.**
Parking: Meet at the parking lot off W 21st -22nd & Riverside Drive near Canoe Run Park
After the hike we can grab a drink and lunch at the Veil.
