Belle Isle Bound! (Richmond)

Get ready for an fun outdoor escapade as we meander the trails at Belle Isle in Richmond! Join us for a scenic adventure that goes beyond the gorgeous suspension bridge over the James River. As we trek through the twists and turns of Belle Isle, we'll get an escape from the city as we connect with nature.

The last time I hiked this trail, the James River had washed out a portion, but was able to eke out 3 miles! We'll try to hit that mark again as we explore beyond the main loop, up into the hill a bit. Luckily, there is no getting lost as we are hiking on the island!

LOCATION: Belle Island, Richmond VA - Parking Lot at the end of the Belle Isle foot bridge off Tredeger Street.

TIME: Lets start at 10:00 AM, we'll have some brief introductions and hit the trail by 10:15 AM.

SKILL: This hike is the easy side of moderate. The main loop is flat, but as we navigate the Belle Isle hill expect possibly steeper and muddier conditions. If you are new to hiking, this is the trail for you!

ESSENTIALS: Even though this hike is in an urban location, be prepared with your 10 essentials.
