Join BIPOC Suds at Newark Culture Club for First Pour — an Indigenous Peoples’ Day gathering bringing together craft beer, art, poetry, music, food, storytelling, and community for a unique Sunday afternoon in Newark.
At the center of First Pour is a curated beer experience inspired by four themes connecting us to the natural world:
🌾 HARVEST — What the land gives us.
🌊 RIVER — What sustains us.
🌲 FOREST — What grows around us.
🔥 FIRE — What transforms us.
Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to explore a selection of craft beers chosen to creatively interpret these themes — from saisons and seasonal releases to unique bottles and special offerings from brewery partners.
But First Pour is about much more than what’s in the glass.
The afternoon will also feature:
• 🎨 Live art from BIPOC artists
• 🎤 Poetry and spoken word
• 🌳 Live bonsai trimming and trees available for purchase
• 🎶 Music from a live DJ
• 🍽️ Food and small bites
• 🍺 Special beer selections and brewery partners
• 🪶 Indigenous voices, stories, and perspectives
• 🤝 Plenty of time to drink, discover, connect, and gather
First Pour is designed to be part beer tasting, part art experience, and part community gathering — creating space to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day while exploring our relationships with land, culture, creativity, and one another.
Whether you’re deeply into craft beer or simply looking for something different to do in Newark, you’re welcome at the table.
Come for the beer. Discover the art. Hear the stories. Stay for the community.
