Details
Join Julian H. for a day of birding on the northern Oregon Coast. We will explore a variety of habitats and terrains where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. We should see various shorebirds, waterfowl, gulls, pelicans, and early fall migrants. Among our target birds are Red Crossbill and Wrentit. Be prepared for a range of weather conditions and for walking on beach sand and level trails. Pack a lunch to enjoy at Battery Russell. Please let us know if you need to borrow a pair of binoculars. Bring a camera and spotting scope if you have them. We will meet at Parking Lot D at Fort Stevens State Park, at the east end of Jetty Road (46.22658,-123.99095).
Be advised the flying vampires (mosquitoes) might be a problem. :)
