Camping Trip at Pawnee National Grasslands
Details
IT'S BACK- Our Spring Migration Camping trip to Pawnee National Grasslands!!
Join us for a weekend camping trip to Pawnee National Grasslands in northeastern Colorado. I have reserved the Plover group campsite for Saturday night.
There's plenty of time for birding in the campground and surrounding area. For those of you that have joined us in the past, you know the birds can change in a matter of hours during spring migration. We always find some goodies!
It's not a Birding and Beers event without beers, so everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite beers and we'll enjoy beers, food, and conversation around the campfire Saturday night.
On Saturday afternoon and again after we break camp on Sunday, we'll explore the surrounding area by car. If we're lucky, we'll spot many of the species Pawnee is famous for including Burrowing Owl, Lark Bunting, Thick-billed Longspur, Mountain Plover, and Chestnut-collared longspur.
On Sunday morning, we'll start with a pre-breakfast bird walk around the campground in search of newly arrived spring migrants. You never know who will show up!
Details to come on group dinner and breakfast menu signup.
What You Need To Know:
Cost: $25 (non-refundable). Please only RSVP if you are as certain as you can be that you'll join us. Your spot will be confirmed once you submit payment.
These events are popular and we want to be sure that everyone that RSVP's is committed to going. Spring weather on the eastern plains can be foul, but foul weather often brings in the birds!
Bring your own camping gear, food, drinks, etc.
