Kachina Wetlands is beautiful and birdy in July, especially after a good monsoon rain. Come join biologist Harry Jones, a topnotch birder who will help you see and hear scores of species and will provide fascinating information about their behavior and ecology.
Meet at the entrance to Kachina Wetlands at 7 am. Please bring binoculars if you have them, along with water, a hat, and sunscreen. The walk will be about two miles over flat terrain on packed dirt. Wheelchair accessible. No bathrooms, so plan accordingly.
Directions: From Flagstaff, take 1-17 south to the Kachina Village exit. Immediately turn right onto Tovar Trail and follow it for a mile to the end. Turn right into an unpaved parking area.
