Mindful Birding Event
Cave Springs Campground
Friday, August 22, 8:00-9:30 am

Come join us for an experience of Mindful Birding at Cave Springs Campground. Parking is very limited! You’re welcome to come early. We will practice using our connection with and direct experience of birds to keep ourselves centered in present moment awareness. This will be very different from a traditional Audubon Bird Walk, as we will not be focused on identifying or educating about individual bird species or creating an Ebird checklist. Part of our time will be spent with eyes closed and/or in silence (except hopefully for some bird songs). Birds can be great guides and allies, helping us maintain present moment awareness, which can bring benefits such as reduced stress or anxiety and enhanced feelings of peace and overall well-being.

There are no bathroom facilities as we won’t be going into the campground itself. We will be sitting at the beach area. Participants are encouraged to wear pants, bring your own chair or mat, hats, sunscreen, water and binoculars.
