Kick off January with a scenic winter bird walk along Woods Canyon Trail, where red rock landscapes meet desert scrub. This relaxed walk is a great opportunity to spot both winter visitors and hardy year-round residents while enjoying one of the area’s most beautiful trails.

Time: 8:00–11:00 AM
Meeting Point: Red Rock Ranger Station – lower parking lot
Directions: The ranger station is located 1.2 miles south of the Village of Oak Creek along Highway 179.
What to Bring: Good walking shoes, wide-brimmed hat, layered clothing, sunscreen, water, snacks, binoculars.
About the Location: We’ll walk 2–3 miles round-trip on a mostly flat trail through classic red rock canyon habitat, ideal for winter birding.
