Winter Bird Walk at Greenway Farms (Bundle Up!)
Details
Join Birdwatchers of Scenic City for our very first meetup — a winter morning bird walk at Greenway Farms!
We’ll take a relaxed, beginner-friendly stroll through the wooded and open areas around the park, moving slowly and stopping often to look and listen for birds. Winter is a surprisingly wonderful time to birdwatch: leaves are off the trees, birds are easier to spot, and resident species are very active.
What to Expect
- A gentle, slow-paced walk, perfect for all experience levels
- Woodpeckers, kinglets, sparrows, hawks, and other winter residents
- Plenty of time to observe, learn, and enjoy nature together
Important — It Will Be Cold ❄️
- January mornings can be chilly, especially in open areas.
- Please dress warmly: layers, gloves, hats, warm socks, and any hand warmers you like.
- We’ll be moving slowly, so proper winter gear makes the experience much more enjoyable.
What to Bring
- Binoculars (if you have them — if not, come anyway!)
- Comfortable shoes
- Water
- Optional: camera or birding notebook
Everyone Is Welcome

Come bundle up, meet new people, and enjoy the beauty of winter birdwatching.
