18:00 - Arrival
18:05 - How Capgemini worked as ‘OneTeam’ with HMRC
Wind back to late - February 2020. We sensed the world was about to change, but didn’t quite understand when or how.
By mid-March it was becoming clear, and as the UK approached lockdown on March 23rd 2020 Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC) asked Capgemini to help them deliver nationally critical support to the UK economy.
Her Majesty's Government (HMG) launched two flagship programmes: the Job Retention Scheme and the Self Employed Income Support Service. In this talk I’ll tell the story of the early days and weeks of the pandemic from the view of these critical programmes, and later the Eat Out To Help Out scheme, and describe how Capgemini worked as ‘OneTeam’ with HMRC and their ecosystem to deliver in a time of national crisis.
Dr Michael Osborne, Architecture Director @ Capgemini.
Michael is a leader in Capgemini’s UK architecture practice with over 20 years of experience focussed on Digital lead transformation. His experience covers the entire lifecycle with roles ranging from dedicated engagements within client teams, software development and architecture through to proposition development & sales, and management of large technical teams (10-50-100+).
Michael is an architect that is passionate about business and technology alignment, applying technology in innovative ways that enable our clients to transform.

18:40 - Insight from Talend:
During the Pandemic, it was not only working practices that changed but also the way companies used data. New challenges meant data teams had to become more creative.
Join Talend as they share three stories about how they worked with organisations facing unique challenges and innovations born out of necessity.
Learn how HMRC had to deal with the demands of Brexit and import/export reporting whilst also facilitating financial relief for companies and individuals.
The hospitality business was tricky enough before COVID-19 arrived, but the Pandemic forced Stonegate to rethink its core business and operational models fundamentally.
Learn how Stonegate found and unlocked the power of their data and how SNCF used their data to keep running effectively and their passengers safe.
