BBC Radio WM Celebrates Metal in the Midlands

We'll be treated to three live acts representing the future of heavy music in the UK at a special BBC celebration of the influence of Black Sabbath in Birmingham.

Rising stars Cherrydead, Gans, and Meatdripper, who all hail from across the West Midlands, will light up the stage at the historic Town Hall. Spanning sludge, stoner, doom, nu metal and drawing on hardcore, punk, hard rock and other ends of the heavy music spectrum, the three acts - including two all-women line-ups - will chart the cutting edge of what is now a global music genre.

The night also promises film screenings, an industry panel discussion, and DJ sets - all exploring heavy music in the UK and the role Black Sabbath continue to have on global metal culture and community.
