Lets keep our New Year hiking resolutions going and do a Shropshire Hills walk around Carding Mill Valley,Caer Caradoc and surrounding hills.

This route combines scenic landscapes, historical stature, and panoramic views, making it ideal for walkers of moderate/experienced ability. There will be an incline but well worth it just for the challenge and views.

We will be doing a long circular from Carding Mill Valley National Trust Car Park that will take us around the amazing Carding Mill Valley area, Lightspout Waterfall, and views of Haddon Hill after reaching the high ends of Carding Mill Valley. We will then walk on towards the heights of Caer Caradoc and then pass Bowder Hill and complete the circular all way back to Church Stretton/Carding Mill Valley.

Please note****:

#### Parking

  • The Carding Mill Valley National Trust Car Park is the main parking area for the route and is pay and display or free for National Trust members. (Road parking may be available in Church Stretton, but i recommend this car park as its the starting point)
  • Arrive early to secure a space, as this area is popular with walkers and tourists.

#### Public Transport

  • Train Access: Church Stretton train station is well-connected to regional rail networks. From the station, it’s a short walk to Carding Mill Valley but please consider that we intend to start walking at 9.30 sharp.

Please bring plenty of snacks and refreshments, along with lunch..we will be stopping for short breaks and there is also a possibilty for a restaurant/pub after the walk.
