Details

During July, this Four Waterfalls Walk in South Wales is a beautiful trail that takes you through peaceful woodlands, past streams, and alongside four amazing waterfalls.

Meet Point: Cwm Porth car park by the Burger Pod
(CF44 9JF What3Words: remodels.winemaker.belts)

Time: Meet at 8:30am for a prompt 9:00am start.

Distance: 11-14 miles, depending on the chosen route and pace.

Pace: Moderate – expect a steady, sociable pace suitable for enjoying the scenery.

Duration: Approximately 7 hours, including plenty of stops for breaks, snacks, and capturing memorable photos.

Terrain: A varied and undulating route that offers a mix of terrains. Expect steep, rocky sections that require sure footing, along with muddy and slippery stretches, especially in wet conditions. The path winds through lush, humid woodlands and past dramatic cliffs and cascades, immersing you in the natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons.

Route Highlights:
We’ll traverse the iconic Four Waterfalls Walk along the Afon Mellte, taking in the stunning Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd y Pannwr, and Sgwd yr Eira – where you can even walk behind the waterfall’s curtain of water! Beyond the fourth waterfall, we’ll continue through the serene village of Pontneddfechan. From there, we’ll follow the tranquil River Neath and Afon Pyrddin, surrounded by ancient woodlands and secretive glades. The adventure will lead us to Ystradfellte, where we’ll loop back to the car park for a final highlight: the impressive Porth Yr Ogof caves, a hidden gem in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.

Please Read:
We will start early as we want to ensure we spend a good amount of time to explore all waterfalls so getting here early is important.
Please note essential hiking and walking gear is required and we will be stopping for breaks and lunch so bring plenty of snacks and refreshments..

Note: This walk will be joined with another hiking/walking group so there is a limit for this event to 15 people .

Thanks!
