Herefordshire 10m Walk: Croft Castle Parkland , Pokehouse Wood and Ambrey Hillfort
Let’s have a leisurely Autumn walk that’s a bit different ..

This will be a 10 mile walk with a nice lunch/coffee stop in the middle at the National Trust Croft Castle cafe and then end the walk with a pub meal/drinks – we will aim to start around 9:30 once everyone assembles and have breaks in between.

The Croft Castle and Parkland walk is a very nice walk which will cover Pokehouse Wood, Fishpool Valley, Croft Ambrey and the Hillfort.
It’s a combination of views of the castle and countryside, woodland, farm and forestry so will be something to look forward to..
Please expect a varied mix of terrain, including woodland paths, bridleways, and quiet rural lanes. Be sure to wear decent walking footwear, especially in autumn/winter conditions if the ground may be muddy etc , and take extra caution when walking along road sections too which may be involved.
We are leaving this as a moderate walk compared to some that we have done recently so the walk is dog and youngster friendly! Bring plenty of snacks/refreshments and please be aware that car sharing is essential for this trip to Herefordshire..
