The Ercall & Wrekin Circular (9-10 miles)
Details
Join us this autumn with a 9–10 mile circular hike around the Ercall and the Wrekin in Shropshire. We’ll begin among the Ercall’s wooded slopes, where the paths wind through woodland and it's ancient quarries rich in geological history. From there, our route climbs steadily to the summit of the Wrekin, crowned with an Iron Age hillfort and offering fab views across Shropshire, the Welsh hills, and beyond – often framed by crisp autumn skies.
This walk blends woodland trails, ridge paths, and rewarding climbs, with plenty of moments to enjoy the changing season.
Please bring enough snacks and refreshments along this walk, we will be taking small breaks too and stop with a packed lunch or a cafe between the walk.
Please bear in mind of the seasonal weather at this time so dress accordingly with suitable walking software and warmer clothing too.
Any questions let me know - we will most likely go for food and drinks after too.
The walk may be ascending and descending at times but is pet friendly
Thanks!
